When shopping for venues for your upcoming wedding, be sure to consider the following before you sign or agree to anything.
Number Of Guests Expected
Ensure the venue can accommodate the number of guests you expect to attend your wedding.
Some venues are better suited to larger crowds, while others can accommodate only a limited number of people.
Style And Setting
Determine if you prefer a more bucolic, urban, modern, or historic atmosphere.
You have all of those options with wedding venues in Lancaster County, but you don’t necessarily have them all in the same place.
So pick which one you like best.
Ceremony/Reception Space Options
If you plan to hold your ceremony and reception at different locations, ensure the venue offers options to accommodate this.
Also, if you prefer to hold your ceremony and/or reception indoors or outdoors, you’ll want to confirm that your chosen venue can accommodate your choice.
Inclusive Services
Some venues are all-inclusive, including catering, coordination, and rentals, while others require you to arrange and coordinate with your own vendors.
Location And Travel Time
Consider the venue’s location and the travel time to and from the venue for your guests and yourself.
Fortunately, Lancaster County isn’t that big, and we’re not far from several airports, so this shouldn’t be a major concern.

There’s no way to talk about Lancaster County without at least mentioning the Amish community of the area.
That’s one of the main reasons tourists come here, after all.
The Amish Experience
Although not directly owned by the Amish community, the Plain and Fancy Farm is specifically designed to showcase and promote Amish culture.
You can enjoy everything from traditional Amish food to horse and buggy rides and overnight stays at the AmishView Inn & Suites (same owners).

Now it’s a beautifully restored event space with tasteful exposed wooden beams and red brick accents.
Old Timey Industrial
If you like industrial but not modern industrial, then Booking House is ideal for you.

Lancaster is not just the name of the county but also its capital city. With just under 60,000 residents, it’s not a big city, but it’s big enough to have an interesting, scenic downtown, and the Cork Factory Hotel is right in the middle of it.
Modern Ammenities in One of America’s Oldest Downtowns
The Cork Factory Hotel, as its name suggests, was originally a factory back in the 1800s and has since been renovated into a charming boutique hotel. Much like Booking House, it features the famous red brick-and-wood aesthetic characteristic of the industrial North in the late 1800s.
And to make it more interesting, Lancaster, which was originally built in the 1720s, is one of America’s oldest inland cities and served as the capital of Pennsylvania from 1799 to 1812. If you have a taste for American history and traditional architecture, Lancaster is a city you should visit.
Historic Shady Lane is another gorgeous historic venue featuring a restored 18th-century stone farmhouse, a barn, and beautifully landscaped grounds.
Classic Stone Farmhouse
Coming from the same era as the last two venues we’ve mentioned, but with a slightly different aesthetic, this secluded yet accessible venue is ideal for couples who want a smaller, quieter wedding away from the hustle and bustle.
